hi, nice to meet you!

I'm Holly Moe

I started Matters of Growth to create a meaningful impact, helping people become more – more capable, more fulfilled, more aligned – and grow into better versions of themselves in both work and life.

True success isn’t just about achievements; it’s about thriving in the moments that matter most. High-stakes, high-pressure situations offer a unique opportunity for growth, where developing social-emotional and performance skills can transform outcomes and enrich every aspect of life.

Inspired by my desire to lead by example for my children, I believe in turning challenges into opportunities. Through Matters of Growth, I help individuals learn in the moment, using these pivotal experiences to unlock their potential and achieve results that truly stand out.

My Story...

From an early age, I was driven by a desire to become more. Growing up in a socio-economic environment where hunger was sometimes a reality, I saw education as my way out. That drive pushed me to excel – becoming my high school valedictorian and the first in my family to attend college. I double-majored, double-minored, worked multiple jobs, and graduated magna cum laude in just four years.

After college, I entered a career in sales, determined to learn business from the ground up. True to form, I performed – earning top accolades and reaching the upper ranks in every role. But even as I achieved so much on paper, something always felt out of reach. Despite my hard work and ambition, I wasn’t number one. And worse, I began to recognize that my relentless drive wasn’t enough. It wasn’t until I made devastating mistakes in my personal life that I realized what was missing: the social and emotional intelligence needed for true success.

These mistakes were my wake-up call. They forced me to confront the gaps in my skills – the ones no amount of academic or professional performance could fill. I began a lifelong journey to learn the “soft skills” that are anything but soft: emotional intelligence, self-awareness, empathy, and relationship-building. Once I started applying these skills, my work performance skyrocketed – from the top 5% to becoming number one in the world, not once, but three times. But what mattered even more was how I did it: not through more hours or added stress, but by connecting deeply with my values, living authentically, and building meaningful relationships.

How did I do it? By leveraging my natural inclination for research and my years of experience in data-driven problem solving. I’ve always been a research lover – a self-proclaimed geek – using research, services, and data to make a difference. Throughout my career, I helped corporations solve tough challenges and fulfill their missions while empowering individuals to succeed in their roles. So when I began my personal journey to develop emotional and social intelligence, it was natural – and essential – to ground it in proven, research-backed strategies.

Thirteen years ago, while scaling programs for a 2,200-person sales force, my journey into neuroscience and behavior change began. Discovering Carol Dweck’s Mindset sparked a fascination with brain science and psychology, and I started designing programs rooted in these principles. What I found was transformative: these tools didn’t just boost performance at work – they improved relationships and created balance in participants’ lives. Realizing my work could have this kind of impact gave me purpose and direction.

A few years ago, as my teens approached their final years of high school, I began reflecting on the lessons that had shaped me. I wanted them – and their generation – to have the tools to navigate life with emotional intelligence, relationship skills, and a resilient mindset. These aren’t just “soft skills” – they’re essential, practical abilities that foster happier, more successful lives. They are the very qualities top colleges and employers now prioritize, and research consistently shows these skills are critical to high performance.

This realization fueled my mission: to make these life-enriching skills accessible to people of all ages, empowering them to achieve both personal and professional success. Success, I’ve learned, is not just about what we achieve but how we achieve it – through connection, resilience, and practical tools that transform challenges into opportunities.

Today, I design programs that blend cutting-edge research with actionable frameworks. By focusing on experiential, in-the-moment learning, participants don’t just learn skills – they apply them to real challenges, achieving greater results than they would on their own. These strategies empower individuals and teams to thrive in real time, delivering both measurable outcomes and personal growth.

My mission is to enrich lives, helping others unlock their potential, build sustainable skills that matter, and create meaningful, lasting impact.
